This is my first year that I am planning to go ice fishing and would like to know if anyone can give me some advice.  I am planning to fish for basically whatever I can catch in small ponds and Lakes in Maine.  I wouldn't mind fishing for bass, crappie, perch, ect.  Is there anyone who can give me some information on how to locate these fish as well as what to use?  Anything would be appreciated.

    Thanks, jd

Try the same spots you would fish in the summer, weed beds, drop offs or holes, and mud flats, especially in low light. In Minnesota we can use two lines so I almost always have a minnow under a float on one and a waxworm on a jig on the other. Seems like a pink head and a white body work well. Like a Shrimpo or Rat Finkee. Crappie could be tight to bottom or suspended, hope you have a good sonar. If I forgot mine at home, I'd turn around or not even go out! Good luck!
