When the Salmo Chubby Darter came out, it was a hate or love lure. It worked wonderful for some people and didn't work at all for others. I've got a few Chubby Darters and while my fish catch rate for these lures are very low, it appears that they work well as an attraction lure more than anything else. Now we've got the Lindy Darter with it's wider profile and a resonating rattle chamber. The Lindy Darter has a slow side to side swimming wobble/wiggle. It's sink rate is also slower than that of a Chubby Darter. It doesn't have that erratic jig effect when pulled, well not as drastic.

I personally don't care for the Salmo Darter...but my brother has sat beside me on the ice and hauled fish with one so I know it is effective.

Also found out that the Lindy Darter can be swimmed in either direction and at times it may change direction on you. Sort of just depends on when you jig it back up. Something that I cannot duplicate on the Chubby Darter.

The Salmo Chubby Darter has been inducing several strikes from fishes for me this year. Mooneyes chasing this lure like crazy. A Channel Catfish came in and chomped down on it. Crappies biting it head on. Perch smacking it.

Sounds like I should be using that salmo darter more often to see if we could interest the dormant walleyes around here...
