Let me tell you guys what a great time me and a couple of friends had on Wednesday, November 15, 2006. We went out on the Free Spirit, http://freespirit.fishnj.com/, to catch a few stripers. Well we had a blast. Not only was the Captain ,Steve Bent, a great guide he was also hell of a good guy. He told why were fishing in certain spots, why we were using certain sections of the bunker for bait and how the tide affects the way fish feed.
We left the dock at 5:30 am to get to the first spot. We where literally cruising by radar and GPS. The morning, and whole day, was foggy. Visibility was about 1/4 Mile. This Picture was taken around 3:30PM after we got back. It was foggy like this all day.
Another picture to show the fog. Chris fighting a striper.
Total count for the day 7 stripers, 3 Blues that we kept. We let one under size striper and several skates. We lost a couple of blues when they got to the boat. We also missed other fish because of slow reaction time.
I caught my first striper ever. It was undersize so we let it go. I also caught a 41" the biggest of the day.
In short, want to go striper fishing give Captain Steve a call.
Here are more pictures.
