When you jerk the spook too slowly it tends to only go to one side, which is good when you want it to do that. But to walk the dog, make your jerks moderately fast and rythmatic. Say two jerks per second, once you get that thing walking you can slow down or speed up more to find its limits. If you are still only going to one side, you may have to bend the eyelet to the right a little. Stand sideways to the bait like you might with a CB or spinnerbait and you can generally walk the dog by pointing the rod tip up, down, or in the middle but each may require a different speed to be successful. You will see many people using this bait this fall, that's a good time for it. Also try to watch any fishing shows that involve any of the great lakes, they use them a lot and you can see it in action.
