This is my first post here, I am glad to be a member and glad to hang out with all of you and learn the joy of fishing!

    Sinkers...

I am an environmentally kinda guy - and I have an aversion to using lead sinkers.  Now, all my local bait shops, Wal-Mart, Bass Pro, and Gander Mountain Sports, seem to only have lead sinkers.  I did in fact see the non-lead sinkers at Wal-Mart but was short on cash at the time and had other obligations.  Next day, went back, gone...all of em.  After speaking with store associates, it seems that the non-lead sinkers are popular because of the simple fact that they are environmentally friendly.

Anyone have any ideas of where I can track these buggers down?

Hello, Sardo.  First, welcome to the Forums.  We're just as glad to have you as you are to be here.  If you've just joined the NAFC as well, welcome to the Club, too.  Enjoy.

I don't know where you live, but I've seen the unleaded weights at the BassPro in Gurnee IL at the Gurnee Mills Mall.  They have the leadless jig heads there, too, if memory serves.  If all else fails, you can always order them by snail mail from BassPro.  It takes longer to possess them, but you will have them in your arsenal eventually.

A second recommendation I'd give you is to fish without weight whenever possible.  It's a more natural presentation, and I believe more fish are caught when my offerings are weightless.

Again, welcome to the Boards and the Club, Sardo.  Tight lines and slimy nets to you!

If I'm not fishing, I'm thinking about it. Keep the line fresh, the hooks sharp, and have fun fishing. God bless you. -Sonny, Life Member since 2002

    Welcome aboard Paul

I recomend Bass Pros tungsten weights. They have a couple different brands and variations even some colored to match the bait. If their not in the stores get em online.
