I thought I would start this thread to give those of use that make our own spinners a place to post pics and talk about how we made them and the fish we caught with them.

This is the first one I ever made.  It is 31/2" long, loop to loop and weighs 7/10 of an ounce.

This is one I made today.  It is 5" long from loop to loop.  I'll post the weight here when I can.  I am using a 4/0 hook...

I hope that those of you that attempt to make these lures will post your pics and tell us a little something about how it was made.

I just put this one together last night...

    DSCF1106cowgirl1.jpg picture by doutt

The length is 5" loop to loop.  I am using a 4/0 commercially made bucktail for this since I had it laying around collecting dust!  It weighs about 2 ounces, but I need to put it on a scale to be sure.  The blades are a size 6, colorado style and I am using double over lapping  clevises.

I accidentally posted before i could list the specs.

.051 wire 9 inches loop to loop

    2 #9 colorado blades

    series of brass bead bodies.

    5/0 weedless treble hook

    non-camera freindly black marabou tie

    1/2 oz egg sinker

    2/0 orange/yellow bucktail

Excited to use but i would like a separately tied bucktail and a larger treble off the back.

Has anyone else gotten the make your own lures kit from Jann's Netcraft? I put together some spinners using that kit and they work great. Just got back from Lake George up near Lake Champlain and I bagged a bunch of smallmouth and pumpkinseeds on 'em.

If you look in the "Member Tips" forum you will find a thread titled "Inline Spinners".  It is a "how to" for making your own inline spinners.

I made this one last night as a birthday gift for a fellow member...

This one is also 5 1/2" long and it took me a half an hour to make the spinner and tie the treble.

I bought one of those "kits" about 30 years ago...then it got misplaced...and I never used it.

IF you look in turnip's Topic in Member's Tips...you should see a couple of spinners I made with SOME of those parts  that I recently found...in my PILE of stuff here
