I love my collection of soft bags. I started out 2 years ago with a Plano bag that came with 4 3700 series boxes. I immediatly added more boxes, the beauty is that you can take just the boxes you plan on using. The downside is I occasionally miscalculate and leave the wrong box home! I am now using the original Plano, a Cabela's bag that holds 8 3700's plus 3 smaller boxes, a Cabela's backpack style bag that I can cram 8 3600 + 1 3500 boxes into and is hands free( I occasionally take the train into the city(Chicago) to fish the lakefront). I have developed the nasty habit of buying small bags just because they are cheap, so I have a number of small bags that hold 2 or 3 boxes of various sizes. This lets me tailor the load to the trip. Works for me. Tom |

The real down side to soft side tackle bags is that they are not water proof. I live and fish in the Pacific Northwest and the weather is not kind to softsides or anything that can allow moisture in. If you find any moisture inside you better let it air dry before you store it. Life Member - NAFC. Come check out what I do for extra fishing money

The same can be said for hard-shell boxes...as rain can get inside of them too. If ya don't believe me...take a hose to one sometime Here's 2 more boxes of stuff I have sorted out. One is a Plano 9606 that has all my small and medium sized crankbaits (medium to deep depth).... The other is a box full of lipless cranks... I have one more set of pics coming in the morning Life Member David BB Linkmeister

Here's my minnowbaits...have so many that they barely fit into the old 10 tray box of mine I'm STILL working on sorting out the "weedless / snagless" stuff that I've put together. I'll have pics of that in a few days. Life Member David BB Linkmeister US Army '78-'85 West Central Wisconsin

Here's a few ideas for holding small numbers of spinnerbaits...the anchor boxes you should be able to get from construction buddies...the small tupperware-type thing I found in the dollar bin at a drug store. The other 2 boxes (green Plano and smal Flambeau) I found used at garage sales.

Sorry for a STUPID question....but do you have a separate box for EVERY new place you go....and do you then save that box of stuff specifically for that place? reel action wrote: i have over 50 boxes. every time i go to a new place i make a new box for it

All I can say is thank you, everyone of you!!! The wife and kids have been accusing me of being a complete tackle freak, and having WAY too much tackle. Personally I do not think that having just 2 duffle bags (that only hold about 20 3700 series boxes in each) of different types of lures is too much. And after seeing this thread, and showing it to them, I feel vindicated in my opinion!!! You guys have way more tackle then I have!!! (Bass Pro Shop...HERE I COME!!!) |

I use soft sided boxes and for most of my soft palstics i use worm binders because the hold a lot of plastics in a small area, I have managed to get almost half of my gear into on big bag. But it weighs around 80 or so pounds. Slam EM' Jigs All The Way |

Cabelas makes a storm proof bag if ya check out their site, Ive used one for a few years now and really like it. It would be tough to get your lures wet unless it fell in the drink. Thats the only reason I bought it. Every other tackle system I had would leak a little, especially while trailering them in a boat and they got stuck in the rain. |

Best part of this thread was the wife's reaction to it. I showed her some of the posts and she now thinks that I am only mildly disturbed. This is a big improvement from her previous Obsessed oppinion. Tom Fishin' fool in NE Illinois |

Those are outstanding pics of the boxes! My wife looked over at my laptop and thought I was at one of the store sites buying lures. I got the whole " we could be buying things for the house instead of wasting the money on something thats either not going to work or be lost" routine. Thanks guys! It took a few minutes to get her to see that it was a picture of another mans collection. My only dream is to have a box that full one day! |

Great Topic & Posts...this reminds me...I remember seeing this old classic Bass Fishing Cartoon with a fisherman in his boat, towing a raft on which his GIANT tackle box sat! I only have 3 old medium to small size boxes, (embarrased to even show them here) one in my truck, one in the car and one parked behind the front door....I think the Funniest thing about having so much tackle is when you see a guy with a GIANT TACKLE BOX ......... and a container of Nightcrawlers.......just in case.... |

I probably have 1/10th of what some of you guys have and probably only use 10%of that on a regular basis! I have bags with 3600 and 3700 series boxes and put together what I need for where I am headed for. This might be a large bag holding 8 3700 boxes, 3 3600's and a 3500, or it might be a small bag with just 2 3600's. Works for me. Tom Fishin' fool in NE Illinois |

For you guys that are saying "I have so less stuff that I would be embarrassed to post pics".... This Topic isn't about how MUCH stuff we each have......but HOW you have organized what you DO have....and what types of storage you use. As I said in the beginning...we ALL have things we can learn and share with each other. So please....don't hesitate to post pics of what you have and HOW you have it organized. I'll guaranteee ya....I will NOT be laughing at you....and I'm sure the majority of others here won't either. Life Member David BB Linkmeister
