Dave your defending this topic like its a 1980 corvette. You seem to be getting mad sir. All those caps? YOU MUST MEAN SERIOUS BUSINESS!
I think you have more fishing gear then you do brains.

You have more boxes for fishing gear than a bum has boxes to live in.

I think you have a sheet-azz attitude RRichards151  the rest of you too

What "caps"? The text was merely made bold which is what the "B" button stands for when you go to Reply to a topic. MAYBE you LEARNED something today

It SEEMS like there is a group of you that wants to "put down" we folks from several YEARS ago that spent MASSIVE hours in the HOPE that we could "share our knowledge" of what we've experienced / learned over the years.

With posts like ya'all's...it kinda seems to me that you folks have NO respect for that effort.

Which is WHY I haven't taken the time to do new posts on here....or try to even update OLD posts that had MASSIVE amounts of info destroyed in November 2007.

It was November of '07 that I joined. Wish I had been here in time to check out all that was lost. You're not the only one who has mentioned how much information was lost during that site make over.

BJ , I like the looks of your tackle box! It looks simple and not complicated! Which is exactly what this thread is about. Yes, I have a lot of lures, but for me I like to be prepared (this is the excuse I give my wife) for just about anything. Most of the waters I fish I don't know very well or have never fished before. So the system that I have shown in the pics works well for me...Cabela's & BPS don't get much of my money as I am usually using older lures that I keep in good condition, repairing as needed. I also make some of the stuff I use and some of the club members have made lures for me!

I wish you well with your tackle storage system and I hope this topic continues to be of value for the members rather than a battle ground!

I agree about the Information Turnip. Lotta good information can be found here. BUT as I look thru the Forum here seems to is a repeat pattern of someone taking the first shot and starting a battle. But you have that...happens on forums that have no moderation. Forums without Moderation always have a Loose Cannon and seems to be ONE here.

Well...I too have tackle boxes and bags all overstuffed with lures...but its only natural I guess. How else can you learn what works short of buying things and trying them? Its interesting to note that what works best for me I carry in one little soft bag.

I do think that Dave is sometimes a little bit touchy but he is correct, the thread was started as an avenue to for the sharing of ideas. I don't have Bold key in my setup, mayby that is just a tool which is not on my toolbar or something.

One thing Dave is correct about, he and others have willingly shared any knowlege they had on different subjects. I know Dave has done a ton of them.

First step in catching fish is leaving the house and computer behind and getting on the water.

FIRST step to being RESPECTED on here is to NOT trash an informative topic.

I've reported your post Tom as being "Off Topic". Teabagger Loser

As for the REST of you...this topic was NOT started to show "off" what we individually had...but to give folks thoughts on how to organize what they have.

IF you people can't understand that...OR respect that...take a HIKE.

Pete..& I..and SEVERAL others...made an effort concerning this topic.

Kindly take your attitudes elsewhere

@ Big Jonesy..your pic of that tackle box reminds me of similar items I've seen on Ebay in the last 5 years. It's DANG difficult to believe that it is your OWN tacklebox.

Mr. Davesett.....just figured I would keeps ya in the loop.  My daughters be gettin me a NEW tackle box for Christmas this year.  Cuz thats all I wants!  Would you be so kind to gives me sum help in setting up my new box?

I did ask for a few lures to, but not as many as you gots.  Maybe you could spare a few?

I would have no problem trying to help you organize a new box Big Jonesy.

I also hope that others will be willing to give their thoughts on the subject too. This would be especially helpfull as there is no "perfect" way ("one size fits all") etc...when it comes to organizing your tackle. That thought is the MAIN reason I had started this topic to begin with

A couple of MAJOR things that we will need to know are...

1. The size of the box (a pic of it or the brand & model #) would help a LOT

2. Tell us what species / types of fish do you fish for. This would help us identify types of lures to add to your "arsenal".

A couple of other questions to think about that can influence what to put in your tacklebox are...

3. "What types of waters do I normally fish?" For example, a person that fishes a lot of ponds / "shallow" waters" that have a LOT of surface vegatation isn't going to have much use for deep running crankbaits or minnow / "stick" / jerk baits (floating Rapala & MANY others) as they will get hooked on weeds too much to be effective. Another example is whether you fish MOSTLY from shore or from a boat. It DOES make a difference.

4. "Are there techniques that I want to learn?" Let's say as an example that you want to learn about fishing soft plastic lures. IF that is the case, you would want to add a small variety of them...along with a variety of hooks, sinkers, rattles etc...to the box.

There's a topic on here that we did about "Multi-species tackle boxes". I'll see if I can find it...maybe it will help you some.

As far as lures I could "spare"...I have quite a bit of stuff to sell...everything from trout / panfish to bass / pike / muskie. With all due respect...I've been unemployed for 55 months at this point...and can't afford to give away lures...no matter how much I'd like to. I hope you understand.

Regards
