All of my tackle was stolen and now I am having to start from scratch. Luckily I have insurance. Nonetheless, I am looking for recomendations on what to get. I mainly fish for bass and walleye. Thanks!

First off sorry to hear about your tackle being stolen. Second welcome to the club and BB. Third what worked for you before, what ever that was I'd buy more of the same.

How much do you have to spend? Next you need to decide whether to buy quality or quantity. You can spend $500 on 2 upper-mid range combos or 5 moderate quality rigs. If you fish for bass and walleye, at a minimum you would want a decent baitcaster and a pair of spinning combos in medium and light to ultra light. When I quit cigarettes I found myself with a pile of money to spend and turned into a tackle junkie. Now I have about 6 combos that get used just enough that I won't sell them. Make sure that what you buy you will use. Tom

AW-- Sorry to hear of your loss! also, welcome to the club and forums. I agree with Wellsley on his suggestion. You don't have too buy top shelf equipment, just be careful of the products and that they are of good quality. Also, where do you do your fishing at? I assume that you are fishing from a boat? Did you do well with your previous tackle and equipment you may want to talk with local fishermen and outdoor stores; ie: Bass Pro Shop, Cabela's and Sportsman Warehouse. Check online for fishing gear! Look at all sides of it,then decide what you want for yourself. Take other peoples inputs as advice. In the end, you have to satisfy your needs and not somebody elses!! Good luck and great fishing to you Hope it goes well. Let us know what you decide on! Take Care and God Bless. Bill J. aka fishnhunt

I HATE A THIEF !!!! I hope that they at least make good use of your gear. I would just get some of the same gear that worked before. Starting with the most productive and going from there.
