yeah so here they are, was bored waiting on the paint to dry on the longer one so i made the smaller one too, tiny yeah but the scan i did of them dont do them justice, the lil one was just a keep me busy so i leave the other alone but it swims and jigs about pretty good, the long one tied directly to the line stays on top and swims straight, pop pop pop looks nice from it too, with a swivel it slowly drops and again looks great with a lil rod play bump pop bump bump, ill try em out maybe this weekend, take out some bluegill

    They Look Good!

Did you use an airbrush to paint the larger one?

The broken up transition between colors is what I need to do on a few lures that I still need to paint.

Check out what others have made Here-->> Homemade Lures(3)

I'd also like to try some smaller lures like what you made.

no had model and standard spray paint, used standard clear on the finish to hide the stink of the spray, dunno if that matters but im a paranoid one, ive looked around and seen many some of u guys have some nice skills with this, i dont think i did to bad first time out on the planned one "top in the pic", didnt cost me anything had the stuff laying around, just u wait til i have better supplies and get a few more under my belt, ill be throwing some nice lures well nice and super inexpensive, the fun i had doing those definately has me hooked, next im gonna try a larger one possibly lipped, everyone i talked to who has made them sade as small as i planned "top one again" was gonna be more challenging cause not much to hold onto but it wasnt bad at all so if thats true the medium to large ones will be super easy... need an airbrush :/

Pretty good looking lures there. That blue one looks interesting, like a cross between a surface lure and a floater/diver. Regarding the hair dressed hook: I must have tried about ten before I could even get the hair to stay on the hook correctly and I still sometimes have a hard time making a neat wrap on the end. I got frustrated when I first started because of all of the material I was wasting.

that first one is like a lil topwater popper when tied directly on the line if i put a swivel on it and tie on to that it slowly sinks and i can get a nice lil twitching minnow effect from it, havent tried it yet, i just test swam the two piece one and it swims ok, not great but better then expected, its drying right now then gonna paint it up real simple, still need an airbrush to get a better paint job on em but eh for now ill suffer through cans

i also attempted to make a few lures for the first time , the hardest part for me is putting the split ring & the hook on the eye screw. it is such a small area to work with and i have very stubby hands & fat fingers. hopefully i will get lucky & actually catch something besides a stump.
