Anyone out there using Mini-Mites? I have just started having great success with them. You would think that a jig and twister would work just as well, but this has not been my experience. There must be something about them that trigger the fish. Tom

I may have to pick up some of these if they have them at Gander Mountain when i go there Friday. Taking a nice fishing trip next week, so that should be something I can test out on the nice trip.

Scott: I don't think you will find them at GM, I have only seen them in independent tackle shops. I have never even checked to see if Cubby Lures has a web presence. I just started using them, I have been buying a few here and there over the years and throwing them in my tackle box. Started using them this spring and boy am I kicking myself! Tom

Well, I guess I won't be buying them. GM is about the only fishing place we have around here, outside of Walmart. We don't really have "Mom & Pop" fishing places here. Maybe I'll have to Have someone start buyin em for me, and Shipping them my way if they are that good.

Isn't Peoria on a river? I can't believe that a river town doesn't have a bait shop somewhere. Tom

If we've got a bait shop, I've yet to find it. I may have to do some scouting.

Mini-Mites are nothing more than a pre-rigged jig head and plastic. There is something about the action that puts fish on the hook. These baits may be a local thing in the Chicago area, and I have not found them anywhere except independent tackle shops. I'll post a picture as soon as I figure out how. Tom

These things are quite productive for panfish and perch.

I have been using cubbys for years and they work great. I have seen them in Gander Mountain and Cabelas, along with all the local shops. There is also another great one for panfish and it is the Trout and Crappie Magnet. Here is their site.

In Wisconsin we have a chain of stores called Mills Fleet Farm or as we call it The Man's Mall. They have Cubby Mini-Mites in several different colors. Fleet Farm is also in a few other states so they may have your Mini-Mites there as well.
