I'm getting ready for some cod and hadduck fishing and have had problems feeling the bite with mono. Is there any other lines that would work better for me I have a fluke set-up that I lined with fireline and have had much better success.I would need something in the 50# class and I usually jig so would I need a mono leader. Thanks for any info on the subject

suffix braid has severla line classes all the way up to about 100. you can attach anmono leaer to it by way of either joining thetwo lines directly to each other or by separating them wiht a swivel of sorts.

My bottom fishing setup has 300yds 65# braid with about a 25ft, 80# mono topshot.  I've been able to feel the lightest bites down past 40fathoms.   Just a note, I also have a trolling setup that has 300yds of 65# backing with 100yds of 30# mono.  IMO, the stretch of the mono helps when you get whacked on the troll.
