Last summer, my family and I went to Clear Lake, CA. While we were there,it was somewhere around 105 degrees out. We used 1" tubes with a medium sized weight. I caught probably 50+ crappie averaging at about 10-12 inches each.
First off, you need to fish in the shade beneath the dock, at maybe 12-20 ft. deep. DON'T REEL IN! What you want to do, is bob it up and down slowly, and you can catch a lot of crappie, if you can handle the hot summer heat.
