I read the article, but didn't really learn anything new. Not bragging-just had a few really good teachers. I personally don't care for suspended lights because the sand bass I fish for run like crazy and I've seen ( and had ) them wrap fishing line around the light's wires.

If battery power is what you want to use, I've had great success with fog/running lights mounted to the side of the boat. I had a 16 ft bass boat rigged with two lights on each side aimed down at the water. Now I fish from an 18 ft pontoon and just hang a couple of coleman propane lanterns over the side.

To the best of my knowledge, the main difference in light color is that the white attracts more bugs but makes it easier for you to see. I just make sure the lights are below me and the bugs don't bother me.

    Hope this helps.

i haven't used them yet, but have heard of some good results out on the ice fishing for smelt. for my nite fishing i have always used the coleman latern out away from the boat as far as i can get them and yes try and keep them lower than you because of the bugs.

    Hi all

    Thanks for the info.

I have a white floater. It works well and dosent bring the bugs.  My ???? was about the GREEN light. Iv looked in the Bass Pro and thay can eather float or add weight and sink them. Which would be the best and / or should I use both at the same time??
