A bluegill is a sunfish and is related to large and smallmouth bass, as well as redears and pumpkinseeds. |

I believe it look at this: Northern pike state records are listed below. To learn more about northern pike click the following link to our fish facts http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisherie...egill.asp. Bluegill State Records: Picture Angler Weight Date Location & Notes Sarah Brenneman 3 lbs., 7 oz 08/09/98 Sarah Brenneman of Oakland, Maryland broke the old bluegill state record of 3 lbs. on August 9, 1998. Sara was fishing out of Deep Creek Lake when she reeled in a bluegill that weighed 3 lbs., 7 oz and was 13 inches in length. *This page was Last updated: 05/01/2008 18:00:47 (it don't matter if the horse is blind.Just load the cart anyway!... When I was a teenager living in Florida I caught a one and one half pound bluegill while bass fishing. I thought I had a 3 to 4 pound bass on the line. Happy fishing. Phoenix Arizona ~N.A.F.C.~B.A.S.S.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~ |

Yanosick: Do you catch the monster crappie like the ones I have caught at the west end of Table Rock? My first trip to TR I couldn't buy a bass, but caught numerous crappie in the 15-18" range. Tom Fishin' fool in NE Illinois |

Tom, I'm talking about bluegill . I'm not a crappie fisherman, although the lakes I fish in have some. My main target species are bass, bluegill, trout, and cats |

I fish for bluegill more then any other species and raise my own meal worms and red worms and this makes catching them more fun when I do not have to buy bait every time I go.
