They both work if fished properly. I have also put a small tube on the Beetle Spin frame for large crappie. Tom |

--a beetle spin is a small jig head with a small grub tail on the hook and having a safty pin type spinner blade hanging over the top of the hook. -- a tube body is a hollow skirted grub type body that fits over a jig head and covers the shank of the hook.
and yes like pegsguy has said they both work great on panfish.

by far the tube jig works best. It can be casted or jigged over the fish. It is my personal favorite. |

Beetle spins work, but I like a small (< 1/16) tube jig under a slip float. |

Either Or. I prefer tubes. But a beetle spin is still a damn good choice. "it doesn't matter if the horse is blind....Just load the cart anyway!!!" John Madden NFL Hall Of Fame) Fred Jefferson,MD (NAFC LM) (NAHC TLM) |

I can't get the fish to respond to either, tried a Kentucky rig yesterday still nothing. If at first you don't succeed get a book for dummies and try again |

I always wondered about those 'complete' books. Are they complete books for dummies or books for complete dummies? Tom Fishin' fool in NE Illinois |

I perfer tubes over spinners for panfish, sometimes I would have to change the weight of the jig head, based on how they're biting or the elements, when they're really picky I have gone as light as 1/64th on an ultra light. |

Do beetle spins/tubes work good for only crappie, how about Bluegill? Not monster bluegill, the kind you find in public waters. |

Bettlespin for more acttive fish. Tubs/grubs for less acttive. Love em both. But never over look marabou jigs (1/64-1/16) under a bobber. Bluegill, perch, crappie works for them all. |
