Has anyone used poppers for panfish? I have Bassman 123 making me some right now, but I have never used them before. Has anyone had any luck with them?

Yea, they work, at least the ones I've tried. Most of the panfish size you need a fly rod or casting bubble to get any distance. Definitly a finesse technique. Tom

I fish a farm pond in the Fredericksburg, Va area for Crappie and Gills. During the heat of the summer, I'll throw poppers on a 3 weight flyrod I built years ago. I flip them under the tree branches overhanging the shoreline. The gills hammer the poppers. And I mean hammer!! Ultimate top water action!!
