I have an 18 year old son who is graduating from high school this year. His request for a graduation present is to take him to Canada fishing. (How could I say no !) I have booked an outpost cabin for a week in Northern Manitoba where it should be possible to catch 20 pound plus pike and walleye up to 6 or 7 pounds. I think I would like to buy him a good quality bait cast rod and reel that would work for both types of fishing. Any recommendations for a good combination. I suspicion he will be "hooked for life" after this trip so I want to buy something of good quality that will last him for several years. I think I want to use Power Pro braided line.
