Depending where you fish in Wisconsin the season may be open all year for Northerns. There are certain rivers that never close except for Muskie.

the river ill be fishing has been thawed for over a month,so theres no chance for ice...lol.Ill probly throw a spinnerbait (slow roll it) and ill also have an x-rap in hand, they might be more active then i think so i could easily fine-tune my retrieve speed to what they like with those lures

Our opening weekend starts tomorrow for everything except Muskie (Wisconsin).  I am so excited, I'm sure I won't be able to sleep tonight!  It's supposed to be heavy rain all day Saturday, but Sunday is going to be upper 50's to low 60's, so hopefully the fishing will be good on Sunday.....

Natashia, did you know that the Wisconsin River is open all year for all species except Muskie, Trout, and Sturgeon. There is a list of waters that are open all year on the DNR Web site. Some of them may be in your area.

Since I figured this out by actually reading the pamplets that they give you, my season has never closed. I'm not so ready anymore to go out on opening day and play bumper boats with everyone else.

       Good Fishing!
