Unless these fish are in a totally negative mood, a buzzbait, spinner, bucktail or floating minnow should work. Fish them like you would a Northern. Tom

How deep of water are we talking about? (shallows) Are they just sitting there or are they moving in and out of the shallows?

Wallsley, from 1` to 2` of water. the first time I seen them they were just sitting,Then the next couple times they were moving around in deeper then back. They could have started moving because of me,don`t know.Nobody else can go where i go in my boat.I`ve seen them hit at fish.

musky are not an easy fish  it  takes hrs days months
and most of the time they will only follow your lure  and slowly sulk  away .
if they don't even chase your lure they are negative  come back later and try .

musky fishermen consider a follow a good day and when one actually hits its an exceptionally good day , that's  just the way it is.

Ok O fart try putting alive perch or other large bait fish 3' behind a 2" or bigger bobber. Now put that 60' or more behind the boat. Then slowly troll zig zag along the shallows. The bobber should keep the bait from getting snagged. Once in awhile make a 180 degree turn heading back in the direction you came from. The bait will not be able to swim up right and will roll. When nothing else works this can cause these toothy critter to hit. Good Luck and report back.

Looks like you have rod holders to hold the rod. Set it out, put it in the rod holder and start paddling. Make sure the drag is set lightly so the big guy doesn't take offf with your rod.

    If you can....try this rig.

    1. Rig a black soft plastic lizard weedless (the bigger the bettter).

    2. Use a short  6" wire leader to the hook.

    3. 3 - 10' of 15 lb+ fluorocarbon line for a leader.

Cast it into where-ever....let it sit until YOU get nervous  keep a CLOSE eye on it. IF you see ANY kind of movement in the area...WAIT until you feel the weight of the fish on your line....then set the hook

If no takers after a couple of minutes....give it a SHORT LIGHT tug.....then let it sit again. Do this a couple of times...and after that....start reeling it back spoaridically (sp)...and if you can do a "walk the dog" with it....even better

Ok everyone took all the advice and used it,their just finicky. A worker at the park told me to wait until it got colder and I`d probably have better luck. Are weather here is still fairly warm.I`ll post a pic if I catch one.

I'm not really sure where you're at but here in Jersey the bite was on this past weekend, too bad my son and I were off our game.....I hooked 2 and my son hooked one and we lost all 3 fish. but the fish were set up on breaks and we were twitching large crankbaitbaits.

    Hope this helps you out!
