My neighbor across the street form me is a charter boat captain... Yesterday (3-5-06)...
he was telling me about a BIG meeting taking place about the new rules and regulations for fishing in MASS and NH waters....

Well....My favorite fish to go after has just gotten harder....it seems that Uncle Sam is saying that the eels I use for bait are now FORBIDDEN and illegal to use....And it's starting to cause some controversy....

Shame too... From what I've been hearing, is it a FEDERALLY MANDATED LAW from MAINE to FLORIDA...

If caught with live eels in your possession...it could be a fine up to $500 per eel...

So...I've lost using live herring..(gotta be 300ft. from both sides of a mouth of a herring run...) Clams don't stay on the hook....
Luckly I still got my seaworms and bloodworms...
Pogy and mackeral are ok as long as they're running...

Now looks like Fall stiper fishing just got even tougher....

If anyone find out more or If I find out more about the new REGS....I'll be posting...
