So I have been doing some reading on stripers in fl but I cain not seem to catch them but in the same sence I do not know what I am doing.
I have read on website that striper hang out at the jettie in lake george, the first mile of the lower wekvia river, and the mouth of the run at blue springs all of these location off or on the st. johns river I never have fished the jetties in lake george but I do fish wekiva river and the run at blue springs all the time
I have also been told by 2 diffrent wildlife officers that at the blue spring run under the brown sign that says no fishing or boating past this point is a striper hole so long story short I have a good suspicion that striper at at blue sparings
    Some info...
Water 72 year round and crystal clear(you can see were in meets the dirty st johns),lots of curent,17 to 20 feet deep in mouth, teleophone poles about ever 5-8 feet in mouth to establish the "do not cross line", curent take 90 degree turn at st johns with on big whirlpool.
I have only cought bass from the mouth and some unidentified saltwater fish (yes salt). I know that real big catfish, gar, bass (you name it) hang out in the clear water just past the do fishing sign.
also I have heard that stripers love ells which I catch near the run all the time on shrimp while fishing fo catfish.
the lower wekiva dumps into the st. johns the river has deep hole in the turns I have alway fished the shoreline for bass and have done well but no stripers
so that what I know so How do I catch them??
What bait should I use ??
Is there any good time to fish for them???
    thanks
    -Richard
