I'm getting things together, gettin' ready for the American Shad, when they join the Stripers on their trek up the Hudson.

That's a 7' ultra light I built just for them Shad. Along with some darts I poured and tied for 'em.

    Everybody else ready?

I'm headed to Weiss Lake in northern Alabama for some crappie with a KY member I met on the site. Pictures and story to follow. Hope the weather holds for us. Already making my sacrifices to the Fish Gods. Hope they're acceptable. Joseph

welp, i went out for striper but never put the boat on the river! lets see friday was 70*  and awsome, sunday was high 60*s and awsome but saturday suck'd the wind was non stop and  50*'s so when i got to the river in the canoe it's was a bit scary lookin! so i stayed on the bass pond ,it let me only fight the wind current, instead of the water current too, i landed 4 bass nothin big 2 ~2# and 2 smaller, wasn't the best day but better than thinkin about it... i did throw a few lures in the river to see if any striper where there but not~a. the best thing was being on the water for about 3 hours by my self, no noise from any one just me and nature, the worst thing is my boat is going to kill me if i try to take it fishing by my self , it's to dam heavy!!!!!need to down size someday!

70*'s for the next few days, so those bass are warming up quik!

    DanO,

I live up by Albany, NY. And, being the non boat-owner that I am, I fish from shore between Albany and Castleton (where I live).

My best striper so far was also my first, a 38", 25 pounder. She was heading towards Troy to lay the eggs that, I'm sure, she was full of. She was a fatty, to say the least!
