I am going on a seven day fishing trip to northern California in April to fish for rainbow/brown trout. When I was planning the trip I figured it would be a good place to visit but now I’m having second doubts, as I was doing more research I found out that I would be fishing in a lake with crystal clear water. The lake is also very shallow and I have never fished in a clear water lake. I will not be depending on my fly gear mostly because I’m not that good at it yet. I’ll most likely be using my spinner combo with 4 pound fluorocarbon line. Does anyone have any tips to help me out? The other use full facts I found out are that the trout spawn in late fall, there is a pond connected to the lake (also with very clear water) and it connects to a river and a couple of creeks.
