Spent three days fishing the eastern basin of Erie last week in search of walleyes. Managed fifteen between two of us.. not one of our best trips out, but not complaining! Weather didn't help.. 3-4 footers one day.. dead calm the next. Our biggest was just under 10 pounds.. most were in the 4 to 6 range. Had a great time as usual.. can't wait to get back there! What a fishery! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Toad.. Our last trip out there (11th - 16th) .. the worm rigs produced the best. We also did OK on purple Renosky's. I use #6 or 7 blades when I tie my rigs. Watermellon seemed to be working for us. Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Chris, whats the limit on walleye in the NY area. If two of you caught 15 fish, I hope some went back as catch and release, or is your limit that large?

Capt... Not sure if you're serious or bustin' chops.. but.. the limit here in NY is 5 per day. As I stated.. two of us fished for three days and took 15 walleyes, which was half our legal limit. The possession/tranportation limit here is fuzzy, but I was told by two DEC officers that as long as your fish are filleted or iced and you have proof of your stay (launch receipts, motel receipts), you'll have no problem. Here on the Canada side you are aloud 6 for erie aday,But remember the wording, 6 is the possesion limit, here you are not aloud six a day unless you eat the previous six, hense meaning only having six per person at one time, if you already have six at home in the freezer, you are not aloud six more because you already have six in your possesion, the wording in the reg's is very critical, i've known many people who have been fined for not understanding them correctly, but again i don't now what your reg's allow, just giving some insite on how our's work.

Walleyemen.. At least your reg's are pretty clear. Even I can understand them! In fact I'll be hitting your fine country this coming week. Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Chris, just be kiddin. I knew you wouldn't catch and keep over the limit, then tell us all about it.
The eyes are just starting to come back into the western basin waters. They left for the hot summer. To bad I'm so far from where you are, I could use some eye catchin.
