I've been to both the Maumee and the Sandusky Rivers over the past two weeks, and the fishing is picking up!!! Last week was still a little slow, but with this warm weather coming up, the walleye should be biting alot more. In Fremont the water is pretty low, but hopefully will be up after last nights rain. As the river rises and warms up the fish should be alot more active. Maumee on the other hand is slammin right now. A buddy and I went up the last three days, and have seen limits walking out at 7:00 am. We've had to release alot of snags, but they're still fun to bring in. By the end of the week, my freezer should be stocked! Guys have also been pulling in a few steelheads, and wait till you hear this. Some guy pulled in a five foot lake sturgeon out of maumee, as well as a 12 year old kid catching a 38" WALLEYE!!! Imagine that... the fish is about as big as he was! That fish by the way is the second biggest 'eye ever caught in Ohio.
