Has anyone ever had a big walleye (not musky) hit close to shore and when you set the hook the fish rolled on the surface a couple times and while holding your breath your once thought invincible line just snaps??? Well this is exactly what happen to me last night as I was heart broken. The fish was big! I am guessing close to 30-inch and thick. The fish went ballistic when I set the hook! I was using 10 lb. test Trilene, thought I had set my drag properly, my knot was strong and I was sure there were no nicks in the line. In the end I felt I lost the battle.
