    All these years I thought I had to go to Canada for big walleyes. I met a guide who specializes in Door County walleyes. These are huge fish that roam the offshore structure up there. In the last 2 years I have take 2 trips in August when the big girls move in closer. We have boated over 30 waaleyes between 5lbs and 10lbs. The guide averages about 5-6 fish per year over 11 lbs and to many 10lbers to even count. This year I took my dad and my son and both of them scored their biggest walleye ever. You can alos go to the lower bay and catch many 18-22 inchers if you are looking for eaters.

    Sometimes it pays to stay in your own backyard. If anyone is interested in going up there I would highly recommend Lynn Niklasch, he fishes many tournaments and guides the upper door county area almost exclusively from August through Labor Day.
