I'll be jigging on Detroit River in April, an was wanting to run out on Erie and try my luck. Any advise on any close spots to try, an what to use? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks "Gottabefishin" |

I fish the central basin but when I go to the western basin I fish the island. What works for me is trolling and casting. You can do both with warm harness witch seem to be working the best. The colors that work the best for me is mostly gold but fire tiger and silver work well. But don’t forget the crank bait or spoons. Or you can try jigging over some reefs. Good luck |

Nice boat Walleye Hunter. Where are you docked? I trailer and go out of East Bank Launch on the Chagrin. Have a 21 Sylvan, and it gets me out there. I go by Jerry's Junker. JB. Eastlake Hunter |

The river, is different from the channel, in the river i like trolling with deep diveing hotntots, the channel allways seems to need jigs. If you leave from the county park in the morning, try jiging in the channel first, see what happens, if nothing, go over to the river and put a floating crawler harness with a 1/4 oz split shot two foot above it and drift twords the east shore of that island at the end. Allways works for me??? good luck |

Borris22, Still shrink raped myself it is sitting a South Shore Marina in Huron. Boat goes in beginning of April, but I through a few from shore one bump but came up empty on Saturday night. Looking for water temp about 38 and it’s on for me. Fishing is good over here but in the spring it’s a little scarce so I go to the west basin but in the summer and fall we are good in the deep water and the fall in the shallow at night. How is the fishing by you? I would think it would be about the same no? Well I will listen to 68 hope to hear from you either on the lake or here. |
