Hi everyone. I normally go to Ontario and camp in the bush, and fish for Walleys for a week every year. However I was thinking about going to New York instead since it is closer and less hassle to cross the border. My question is; does anyone know of good walleye lakes and rivers in New York? I love to go remote. In Ontario, I get into lakes that are supposed to be fly in only. That may not be possible in New York, but surely there are good walleye places that are at least semi-remote. Any tips where to go?????

I'm don't know where you live, but the best walleye lake I have ever fished is Devil's Lake, ND. There are a few resorts on the lake and the lake is not highly pressured. The town of Devil's Lake is served by Amtrak(Empire Builder) and also has scheduled airline service. I have always used Amtrak, they deal with tackle well and it is a very comfortable trip from the Chicago area. I have made 5 trips and the only trip I didn't limit out on was my first. I have never used a guide. It's still a long trip, but no passport! Tom
