I am still relatively new to carpin but here is what i know. Carp can be caught on a wide range of baits from a simple nightcrawler or canned corn or on elaborate doughball recipes. For some simple fishing start off with basic canned corn (el cheapo generic is great). Straight out of the can and onto the hook is fine, I have also been experimenting with adding some flavoring fo my own. Put some of the corn into a ziplock bag and add flavoring. I have used garlic salt and miced garlic, butternut vanilla, strawberry flavoring and banana flavoring so far. (not at the same time). For more elaborate baits checkk out the Bait recipe thread.
