I haven't ever seen a carp like that but I did land a trout in the Grant Lake in the eastern Sierras with a scar which made it look as if it had survived getting hit by a propeller.

I saw a picture of one a friend caught that had been shot with a high power rifle. Just back of the anus it was like you had choped it with a cleaver except for a flap of skin and meat with a 5/16" hole through the flap.  The fish appeared to be in good health and the wound was all healed over.

I personallly saw a fish with a V shaped scar on its side that looked like a snaping turtle strike.

I've never caught one like that hillbilly, but last year my wife hooked one by the eye. I'm sure the next guy to catch it will be waundering what the heck happened to it.

LOL a fish is a fish LOL one year I went flathead fishin' with a local friend of mine Corey , and he and I was flippin grubs to pass the time and he landed a 4" large mouth bass and stuck it in the live well. well it was then time to bait up and I grabbed the first "GILL" out of the bucket and went for another , LOL well I didn't realize it untill I landed a 10lb flathead , that the Gill was NOT a gill LMAO  , it was that bass.

So trust me , I bow fish also for carp and Small mouth buffalo ,  I keep what I reap , but this one in the picture was caught on a rod and reel , and to my suprise once I got her to shore , she had taken some damage and SURVIVED someone's shot. these carp are tough fish , NOT like bass , I have seen carp thrown up on the bank by other anglers and they lay there for hours and when they left I put them back in the water and they actually swam away.

course I have foul hooked bass , walleye and they have diedbefore I could get the hook out.  Carp are One tough fish , and Hands Down one fo the very Best Hard fighting fresh water fish out there. IMHO

Ive caught some carp that have been hacked by most likely a propeller. i know flatheads will occasionally eat them.
