I have a Wilderness systems Tarpon 120.I'ts a 12'6 kayak, weighs about 60 lbs.the front hatch and center hatch have twist and lock levers wich  are good if you are in choppy water , any rubber hatches have a tendancy to get knocked loose sometimes (loose hatches = water in hull).they come with a seat system that is great. the seat sits on a frame over the scupper holes so any water in the cockpit goes under the seat, makes a verry dry ride. and the seat back has adjustable height.its stable, and thier in your price range.rated for lakes rivers and inshore salt too.they make longer versions.14' & 16' i believe.

Hi Castin, I have the Hobie Outback that has the rudder on it, it allows you to turn the boat just like a rudder on any boat does.  It also helps tracking of the boat when your paddling (or pedaling in my case).  The Wilderness System Yak's aren't as wide as my Outback so I suppose they are easier to paddle anyway.

Try this link, has some good info.
