Hit my local Cabela's this morning(Hoffman Estates, Il) and scored big time. Seems like everything I wanted was 1/3-1/2 off. Walked out with a Pro Guide rod, 2 spools of metered braid line, a soft tackle bag w/ 4 3600 boxes and a bag of slip bobbers for $73. The wife was ready to shoot me until I threatened to start smoking again! She chilled out and helped me spool the reel I traded for when we got home. BTW, most of these deals were NOT advertised! Just happened to be in the right place with enough money at the right time. Tom

Been down that road. If I see something I know is worth $50 for $15 I will buy it even if I don't need it. I figure I can always sell it at a small profit or help a fellow angler on a limited budget out. My local Sports Authority is good for running unadvertised specials, so I try to get in there every week or so. It doesn't hurt that Hooter's is just across the parking lot! Tom

    Hello,

I agree with Pegsguy,  Cabellas is a terrific place to shop.  Being down in Florida, I use their 2009 Complete Fishing Catalog.  Keep it in the bathroom for good read when taking a bath or whatever.  Sometimes in the bedroom, too.

As I write I am looking at two Cabella rods I have.  Good store!
