Visited a local tackle shop last night and got a real suprise. There were numerous boxes of Stren line on the rack all labled Remington Arms. How long has it been since Pure Fishing bought Stren? I'm not sure I can trust line that old! Tom

From what I found Pure Fishing bought Stren in 2004.If the line isn't subjected to UV light,weather,or extreme temperatures I think it would be OK in my opinion.

Yano: I have to agree with you, 5 years or so is just too long in my book. I buy large (1/4#) spools of Cabela's house brand mono for the reels I respool often but rarely use one up in 3 years, at which point I toss it and re-order. The stuff is only $8 a spool, less if you catch a sale. Not worth losing a fish over. Tom
