Which would be a good choice for swimbaits: mono, flourocarbon, or braid? If I were to use braid, I would definitely use a flourocarbon leader. Any input would be appreciated.

That's backwards, most mono floats, all fluoro sinks. I stopped using fluoro mainline for this reason, along with a lack of abrasion resistance. Fluoro leader material doesn't have the abrasion problem though. I tie all my snells and spinner rigs with Seguar leader fluoro as well as my drop shot rigs. Nice edit, Barry. Tom
