I use Trilene XL 12 pound test in green color for most applications. How about you?

I use a variety of lines depending on the water I am fishing, what my target is and the tackle I am useing. My baitcasters and trolling reels are all spooled with one type of braid or another, I have a lead core rig and many spools for my spinning tackle spooled with braid, mono and a bit of fluoro. I have gotten away from fluoro as a main line for most apps, just useing it as leader. Tom

I use Trilene XL in 4,8,10,and 12 pound test on all my spinning and baitcast reels except my heavy catfish reel , which is loaded with 50 pound test Trilene Big Game. All XL lines are clear right now, but I will use green as well.

I would not recommend the green Trilene XL, it really easy to see in most water clarities, I only use it because I haven't been able to get to Bass Pro Shops in a while and I got it free in the mail.

Some of us fish in water that is exactly that color green. Just because you fish in crystal clear water doesn't mean we all do. I fish 2 ponds about 1/4 mile apart and one is really stained and the other is like bottled water. Tom

I use Trilene XL in 4# on my Crappie rod and UL for Trout with no problems,I use it in 6# on one of my Bass reels and I have 20# spiderwire stealth braid on another reel but I haven't used it enough to decide whether I like it or not.I use 20# P-line CXX on my Salmon Rod and if that stuff breaks (which is hard to do) you know it cause when it snaps it sounds like someone firing  a .22 rifle next to ya.I thought about trying Cajun Red in 4# on my UL But I've heard bad things about it.I was told that Trilene makes a red colored line but I can't find it.

I've got 4# Cajun Line on my ultra light. I've got 10# Outcast(by Shakespeare) on my life member combo. I can't remember what is on the rest of my combos.

Silverthread, Gamma, and Asso As much as I like the marketing of Spiderwire products...somehow they've all let me down at some point. Fusion, worst ribbon and fray line with discoloration spray onto rod and reel. Stealth, total sponge and lack of castind distance. Ultracasts, good but wears out so fast, the coating peels on any contact with rocks or bullet sinkers. Trilene XL and XT are only good when fresh off the spool. Just don't fish with the same line on the spool after one week. Stren is average overall. Original over Trilene XL, anyday. Magnathin is excellent casting distance but very low abrasion resistance. A little sunfish will easily break off 6# test line. Superbraid, another fluffy sponge line. Excellent in strength, but lots of bulk and line dig'n on spool.

8lbs. Trilene LS (limited stretch) for both summer and ice fishing. I've tried many of the "specialty" ice fishing lines and have given up on them. We primarily fish walleye between 20' - 45' and that's why I choose limited stretch for a better hookset at those depths.

Berkley fluoro. I did use spiderwire on my ultralites but have switched. On my Cat rods 1 has Cajun Line (pre-spooled) the other is spooled with Berkley Big Game with Berkley big game mono leaders.

Hi everyone! On my lite spinning combo I use 6# Fireline crystal  on one spool and 15# Power Pro green on the other spool. On my medium spinning combo I use 12# XL green, here in N.E. Ohio the green works good in our waters. My Cat baitcast combo I use 40# Power Pro green.

I have a ? about Trilene Transoptic. Thinking about putting 4# Transoptic on my UL spinning combo. Has anyone used this line, and what are your thoughts on this line?

I haven't used Transoptic but it reminds me of the old Photocrhomic Advance Tournament Strength line. Does the same thing. Gold on top when sunny, disappears below water.

I haven't used the Transoptic, but have used the Vanish Transition. I wasn't real thrilled with the Vanish but that was more a general dissatisfaction with fluoro. The color change is a nice feature, I still have a couple of spools of it that I use in a gin clear lake near home and the line dissapears under water but remains visible on the surface just as advertised. I have used Trilene XL so long that I am spoiled. The Club sent me a spool of Florocarbon to test and I was very disappointed with it. Its only goog property that I could observe was that it held a knot well. I'll stick to my XL thanks.
