No I do own 1 6'6" Quantium Optix and 1 7' Torsion. They didn't cost $200. and work just fine. "it doesn't matter if the horse is blind....Just load the cart anyway!!!" John Madden NFL Hall Of Fame) Fred Jefferson,MD (NAFC LM) (NAHC TLM) |

How do you get away with calling a rod 'Custom' if it is not made to order? To my way of thinking, a custom rod is made to the customer's specs and is basically one of a kind. Tom Fishin' fool in NE Illinois |

I agree Tom. How does that happen? My friend Luis spent $189 on a KVD reel and we (Jeff & I) are going to get some Zebco 33"s and kick the hell out of him this summer on the river. Just to prove a $40 combo catches just as good if not better than $350 worth gear. "it doesn't matter if the horse is blind....Just load the cart anyway!!!" One of these days i will sit down and write an article about what I find important when fishing. I have purchased a lot of mid to upper end tackle over the years, and I hate to say it but the cheap stuff catches fish just as well given the same hands on the rod and the same bait in the water. My problem is I worked as an auto mechanic for 39 years and developed a fondness for quality tools which has spilled over into my fishing. I just like the feel of a good rod and reel in my hand. I hear ya Tom When it comes to my tools (I'm a Contractor) I do not skimp. But I tend to be kinda a cheapskate when it come to rods n reels. "it doesn't matter if the horse is blind....Just load the cart anyway!!!" John Madden NFL Hall Of Fame) Fred Jefferson,MD (NAFC LM) (NAHC TLM) |

If we ever fish together, it will be interesting to compare tools, Fred! LOL Tom Fishin' fool in NE Illinois |

I dont call it custom for me, it is custom for the pro staff of quantum, they were built specifically for him and all the other rods like for hackney, kvd, klien,grigsby...they are made for a specific way to fish and/or technique... |
