    Has anyone ever used these?

I change my spinners alot when trout fishing in small streams and some streams are artificial lure only. They would eliminate cutting and retying my line everytime I want to switch lures

Sam: In light apps like stream trout I think they would be just fine. I recently tried the Norman Speed Clips and have been less than impressed. Let me know if you try these, just remember to retie from time to time anyway! I have been using the Berkley crossloc snaps in the smallest size without a problem. Tom

I haven't tried them because I didn't know of them...but I'm certainly going to now! Thanks for introducing them here.

They seem like a good idea since I swap spinners constantly when trout fishing and when I'm wading up to my chest it would be easier then retying all the time.I'm gonna get some and try them out this year.

I use them with spinners as well. Quite handy. Just keep an eye on your knot.

I tried something very similar to these that come on Berkley fireline leaders.  I used them in Canada and lost a some fish when the lure came out of the snap.  Happened mostly on smallmouth when they jumped.  I think that any snap that doesn't have a positive lock has the potential to have baits come off.

Try this instead. Someone already mentioned the cross snaps. I go out and buy the smallest snap swivels I can find. I remove the snap from the swivel and use the snap in the same manner. A heck of a lot cheaper.

Why remove the snaps from a snap swivel when the Berkley cross lock snaps in the small sizes are available? The smallest of the Berkley snaps are rated at 30#, so the 2 smallest sizes should cover almost any style of fishing. Cabela's and BPS have similar snaps available. Tom

the Berkley cross-loks are 2.69 for 5 and the no-knot fast snaps are 7.29 for 30 so there not cheaper.I got the fast snaps in medium and they are very small but they are also strong I tied one on and pulled as hard as I could without snapping my ugly stik and it didn't even spread open.I'll try them out and let ya know.

The Cabela's branded snaps are $6.99 for 72, the Berkley snaps are $2.19 for 6. What's in a name? About $20! Tom

Tom, Price and availability... Lighter and the snaps are easier to place on popers than the cross locks

I have been using the fast snaps for a few years now and so far have not been dissapointed.  I have used them mostly for trout and perch/crappie and both flyfishing and spinfishing.  They work well with jigs, small plugs, (1 1/2-2 1/2) and minow baits. I have even caught bass on them while fishing for crappie.  I think they would work for larger baits if they came in a bigger size.  They can even be used with dry flies if you use the smaller ones and the fish arn't to spooky.  Also try the black ones.

I use those a lot. the smallest size can even be used with flies. They are very handy if your hands shake.

I just tend to be suspicious of any terminal tackle that is open on one side. I'm sure that in many light duty apps they are fine. A fish that is known as a jumper sounds like a jailbreak to me and I have bad eyes and hate tieing. JMO. Tom

Ok,I've used them for about a month now for Trout and Panfish. They work great for spinners, I've been snagged and haven't bent them open and haven't lost any lures due to coming unhooked.I also found that if I want to switch to live bait I can just snap a bait holder hook to it and a bobber for panfish.I've had no trouble with the knot failing either.I fished out at the lake for about 6 hrs caught around 20 Pumpkinseeds and Bluegill using the same snap with no need to retie my snap.Very Pleased and with 30 to a pack I'll be buying more maybe next year if I run out.Oh Ya and there American Made!!!

I've used those or something similar for some time. They work well, but don't get the cheap ones. The line will slip through the gap where it ties on. the good ones won't do that.
