    Hey people,

I was just wondering if anyone out there uses Down east rod holders.  I am in the middle of getting my dads old aluminum boat ready for the season and was looking into getting some trolling gear and rod holders.  I am leaning towards getting the down east metal holders and get them in the s-10 version due to the portability and with two clamps, I think they would work as easily if trolling for crappie all the way up to muskie for the most versatility.

any suggestions on rod holders, or what you think of these woul dbe greatly appreciated, ( just trying to decide if these are worth the $30 a piece).

    thanks.

My body may be at the computer, but my mind is "gone fishin".

I have 3 of them I use on my 12' rowboat. I like the fact that you can put them where you want to. If you want to move them you just loosen them up and slide them to where you want them or you may want to switch sides.

I have a couple of them on the round rails in the bow area of my boat. I don't like that no matter how hard I screw them down, they still slip and tilt over. I'm afraid of losing a rod if a large cat or striper grabs the bait while I holding another rod. For my uses I prefer the permanently mounted ABS plastic rod holders I have attached at the stern. Just me. Wanna buy mine? Both for $25.
