yea a mooneye is pretty much just a shad if i remember correctly. i caught a few on the mississippi by la crosse wi....caught a big flathead on it once we cut it up!
caught a pretty big mooneye too, but ive never seen teh gold eye or whatever you call em. that looks pretty much the same though...
