I just caught my most unusual today. I was fishing for bass with a Zoom Mega Finese 5 inch worm. I casted into some weeds, felt a tug, and set the hook. Turned out to be a nice sized frog. Hooked through his mouth. I couldn't believe it. I have never caught a frog before. Too bad I'm not a fan of frog legs. Lifer since 05/08....Ky....Fred |

caught two water snakes on july 4th. fishing for gills using worms and they would attack the worm as i drug it through the submergered weeds at my feet. there was 5 or 6 of them there and they sometimes would be 2-3 trying to get nto the worms. 2 were unfortunate enough to get hooked but even that didn't keep them from trying to get them worms even after they were hooked and released.have also caught several bullfrogs also at various times along with numerous turtles. i also caught a sea cucumber fishing for salmon on pugent sound. duckman st louis mo |

Seagull in mid-cast, @ 20' in the air. Caught while casting a Mirro-lure on Deerfield Beach fishing pier, Deerfield Beach Florida. Fought the gull down from the air. That was one nasty PO'D bird. Happy fishing. ~N.A.F.C.~B.A.S.S.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~ |

Not sure if this would have actually been classified as caught, but one morning after a night of fishing when I went to get our stringer we discovered that our catch had turned into bait. We had a 3 ft water snake on the stringer, it had eaten our catch. To quote MM "That was one nasty PO'D snake." |

Once at an urban lake, I reeled in what I thought was a nice fish. When I got it to the shore, I pulled up a mass of tangled fishing line. As I continued to get the ball of line out of water, up pops a giant carp, hooked in the mouth by the hook at the end of the ball of fishing line. I caught fishing line that already had a fish on it. |

Well I've caught a seagull, I've caught more than my share of turtles and snakes, but I'd have to say the most unusual thing was a baitcast reel on a really nice rood. I was fishing a deep diving crankbait and I hooked some line, i pulled on the line and felt some weight on the end of it so I pulled it in and it was a nice baitcast combo. Oh yeah, caught a bra one time too, a really big one.

If you didn't throw the bra back, some mermaid is swimming around topless .

Hey guys, it's been a while since the last time I was on here, and it's good to be back. I've been fishin' the Susquehanna river between Hallstead, Pa. and Binghamton, NY., and I'm convinced that the Susquehanna is the world capitol of weird catches. I've caught condoms (some new, and unfortionately some not so new ), boots (1 leather and 3 or 4 rubber), an empty toolbox, countless socks, half a belt, used fishin' lures (and one I caught a few years ago was still new in it's box), i-pod earphones, potentially dozens upon dozens of tires (line broke with most of them), crappy sunglasses, all kinds of stuff. You never know what you're gonna catch, which is why I love that river. HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER! Jake from NE Pennsylvania. a.k.a: critterhunter8 (NAHC).

One summer I purchased some Spiderwire for the first time, and just tied onto the line that was on my reel( tightwad) and loaded up the reel. The first time I cast it out, I didn't even notice that I had cast out all of the braid and the knot was out in the water. I was in a deep hole and hooked a big cat and the knot didn't last for more than a minute of the fight, it came untied. When we went out the next day that hole was the first stop, and I got hit by a big cat again, and when I fought him into the boat, he had my hook in his lip and all of the braid dragging behind! That was the end of me trying to save a buck on line. Jeff |

I caught a craw fish wile fishing for catfish on the Cimmarron river in Oklahoma, with my grandpa. Also some guy i saw fishing one time caught two little birds, swallows i think. It was funny because the fish were biting really good and they were flopping and surfacing all over the place, and these little birds kept eating his lure he had to cut his line and tie another lure on every time, man he was getting mad. |

While fishing Summit Lake near New Castle, IN, in my canoe; I noticed a nice lure in a tree that I couldn't quite reach. My canoe tipped and everything sank to the bottom, Luckily, it wasn't too deep and a fellow boater assisted me in retreiving most of my equipment. In the course of things, my rod and reel came up missing; so I drove 10 miles soaking wet to Walmart to buy another. I had just about dried out from the earlier drenching; when I hooked a Canadian goose and got soaked again removing the hook from its wing! |
