Joshua Huck, Try drop shot , with the sinker on the bottom
and the worm floating above it. You can wiggle the line and the worm will stay in place and wiggle . Witch will drive the bass crazy.

I have been using alot of plastic worms and similar lures on a couple of different ponds around my house. I just recently learned how to rig it so it's pretty much weedless. Is there a certain speed I need to reel. or tie the hook so that it will attract more bass?

HEY THERE MARK; WHEN YOU FISH PLASTIC, DO YOU USE AN ATTRACTANT TOO. I HAVE A VERY SLOW STRIKE WHEN USING PLASTICS? MAYBE THE STINK SHOULD HELP. WITH HARD BAITS; I THINK THE ACTION IS ENOUGH WITH RATTLES.

Joshua, try it texas rigged, light bullet weight vary your retrieve to see what the bass want. Fast may work one day but another they may hit on a slower retrieve.

Joshua Big Grin<!--graemlin::D--> Big Grin<!--graemlin::D-->Basicaly Texas rig means the the weight is pegged at the hook eye and the plastic is threaded on the hook up to the eye and then the plastic is embedded on the hook point but not protruding through it. Carolina Rigging the weight is pegged several inches above the hook allowing the bait to float off the bottom. Check the clubs archives they have several articles on how to rig plastics. When i'm pond fishing I use a tube rigged like a "snag Proof worm" using a double hook but I also use a inline spinner & I fish it at a regular speed when retriving

papa_d , Sometimes I use an attractant and some times I don't . I too think the rattle is enough . So far I haven't seen a big differance using attractants. I keep trying them from time to time. Good Fishn

I have found when pond fishing for bass w/plastic worms to be productive when fished slowly. I sometimes use several rods and let the plastic just lay on the bottom, with no weight; occasionaly moving the bait alittle. The strikes almost always happen when the bait is moved, but occasionaly a bass will take the bait up off the bottom, and straighten the line out! (lost a good rod and reel that way once) Roll Eyes<!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> I have tried both Texas and Carolina rigs, but in small ponds I have found this method to work well. (and I don't have to work hard with all the casting Big Grin<!--graemlin::D-->)

You should try a texas rigged worm, but weightless I find if you slowly hop it three times and letting it sit for about five seconds This is when the bass usually picks it up Since u can't feel it at this point u have to watch ur line, and if it jumps set the hook.
I caught my BIGGEST BASS this way Big Grin<!--graemlin::D-->

In Delaware we do not have large lakes, but rather big ponds. We fish these all the time and our tournaments are held on them. Try a texas rig, or carolina and go slow, the slower the bigger fish. Smaller aggressive fish eat first but not for long. Try other colors that are available in your area, and/or get with other members in other regions and swap baits. Something from the south kicks butt here. I was in Jackson, Mi. in April and bought bait that is outstanding here because the fish are not acclimated to the bait. varying presentation is applicable. Good Luck.
