Apparently the thinner wire gives off much better vibration than the .062. with the wieght evenly distributed throughout the lenght, the lure is surprisingly durable. I would like to make my own flashabou but i haven't the slightest idea how to even start. It seems that there is a .31 oz solid brass body with 5 brass beads between the blades and the first skirt. and the hooks are 7/0 by the way. This spinnerbait accounted for 281 50 in+ muskies in 2006 when they came out so i'd like to make them as close as possible to the original design. |

The .051" comes in 8" & 12" lengths and the cost per wire is .15 & .16 each (looped end). I am not sure what you mean about the thinner shaft giving more vibration as it is the blades that make the vibration and attract the fish unless you use a clacker also. I have been warned by those that use these things to be careful not to use to thin a wire because of the bending...There are many "how to" sites for learning to use flash a bou or bucktail or marabou, whichever you decide to use. I can now understand the size body weights that are used (makes sence). LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif

hey guys, lots of good looking lures out there!!! i have been making my own in-line spinners for over 30 years, glad to see other people who use them. a good source for luremaking parts is Jann's netcraft out of toledo. the parts are top quality and they have a wide selection of lure ( and spinner ) making materials. the price's are very reasonable when compared to other part dealers. they have a website (www.jannsnetcraft.com) i've never been there cause i get their free catalog. i've found out that i can look at a catalog any time but computers are hard to use. anyway, you don't have to make only musky lures, but also small inlines and even the safety pin type attachments that you use with jigs. if anybody would be willing to explain how you get your pictures on this site, i'll send some. thanks for being there!! |

It isn't right they make the changes without notice! My suggestion is if anyone ever posts pics, do it through a hosting site. That way they will still come up through a change. I know its a pain in the, but thats the way it is unfortunatlly. |

some one asked about the cost of making them compared to buying them . initially the start up cost will be more . but after you have the materials yes it will be a lot cheaper. fore pike and musky wire you may be able to find bicycle spokes for cheap . look at garage sales or junk yards. finger nail polish comes in a lot of colors . and can be often cheap . a few sinkers that you can use for bodies |

The Do-It mold for bottom bouncers can be used to cast bodies for inlines, just substitute a straight piece of wire coated with anti-sieze compound for the form. Tom |

It's still OK here 'bro. What does your "Sort By" in the upper right corner say? I sort all of the posts by "Oldest First". |

Here's a couple of spinners I made recently for a good friend of mine to give to his 2 grand-daughters. Turnip tied the bucktails for me I ran across the 2 heart shaped beads in a 1 lb box of mixed beads sold at Walmart on closeout for half price. |
