I have a way of rigging  Gulp! Alive minnows that triggers good strikes for all species of fish. I tie on a 4/0 hook and attach a Gulp!. I tie another 4/0 hook with a palomar knot about 6inches above  the first hook and put another minnow there. If you jerk the bait it will swim, the first bait will dart and roll like a injured fish the second bait will dart and dive like it is chasing it. i have caught bass, and walleye and crappie on this rig, it looks great in the water and works really well.

Thanks for sharing that tip. It sounds like a winner. I'll have to try it my next time out.

Sounds like a solid tip for bass, will the 'eyes take a 4/0 hook? Just wondering. Tom

Yes they will but you need a pretty stiff action rod to really drive the hooks home, they are hard to catch on single hooks. Eyes are going to be the fish that puts me in the looney bin!

I've caught eyes on texas and carolina rigged worms and other creatures. They have mouthes as big as any other fish and they like the creatures too. I seldom use anything that was ever alive to fish with.
