bird nest how to got them out

    i saw a you tube on how to get a bird nest out and it work very very well i make a bird nest and i got it out and did not cut my line check out mike webb at bass edge.com and look bird nest all you do is turn the crank 5 to6 turn with your thumb on the spool and then pull the line untill it stop then thumb on spool turn the crank again 5to 6 turn and keep doing untill you get the nest out try it work . god bless george aka

    As long as it's a small "nest" that will work. Otherwise you have to re-spool.

    Another way to get the worst bird nests out is to buy a small crochet hook and put a real cork ball on the handle and keep it in your tacle box. The hook lets you pull the loops out that are overlapped in the birdsnest. I lost my fingers on my right hand in an accident and had to learn to cast left handed. Believe me, you have never had bird nests like mine, lol. After getting the hook I have never lost line since. Hope this helps.

    I use a small dental instrument (a Hollenback #3) to root out bad backlashes. I use the described tip for minor ones.

    what i do is push the button down and pull the line out till a knot stops the line from coming out. then i turn the handle maybe a half turn and push button again and start pulling. some people like to tighen the drag and put their thumbs on spool and crank 4 or 5 times. that dont work for me. and the tools they make is a waste of money for me. i think my way works good for me because i've had ALOT of practice with backlash issues
