I do a lot of pond fishing from a floating pier down the street from the house. I rigged up this rod holder out of spare parts and junk laying around the house. Tom

Still a little small Tom, but better. I'm sure you'll get the hang of posting pictures with a little practice.

I would like to know how you made it and how you set it up. I think you've got some pretty cool projects going on.

Nice job Tom. I like the center holder. You should market the whole thing.

Lets see, two rod holders attached to a length of board and a beverage holder (always handy), but how did you clamp it to the rail?

Guys: It was easy to make, relatively inexpensive and requires no talent to assemble. The parts list: 1. Action rod holder twin pack-Cabela's about $14. 2. 2 corner brackets- Ace Hdw. about $3. 3. cup holder- 4pack from Wal-Mart about $2 4. scrap piece of 2x4(I would use 1x4 if I do it again) You screw the rod holder bases to the wide side of the board and screw the corner brackets to the top of the board so they act as hooks to hang the board, then just mount the cupholder(optional but convenient). By the way, the bases for the rod holders can be purchased separatly, so if you have a boat, you can get additional bases and move the rod holders back and forth. You can also buy the rodholders with extra bases. Hope this is helpfull. I answer PMs as long as they are not from He Who Shall Remain Unmentioned. I think this might work on the gunwale of a rented boat. I'll post here when I try it. Tom
