As I sit here in Cali getting ready to spend the last night in my bed for the next 13 days, I'm excited about this trip. This will be the 2nd different Member Meet that I will be attending (La Crosse was the 1st), and I am anxious to not only see canepole, turnip, Rod Tender and PiscMonkey again (good people...La Crosse Meet last year <!--graemlin::cool:--> ), but I am also looking forward to meeting several of the other Members that will be in attendance there.

I finaly get to meet papa_d, who is one of my long lost brothers roaming the world out there. I also get to meet Doc, who is one of the organizers of this Meet (if you didn't already know), and someone who has a pretty good sense of humor <!--graemlin::cool:-->

Then there's a string of other Member's that I have had a chance to get to know here on the BB a little, including pillman, TheGreatFisherman, JCT, Mike Bitondo, Gene, chuckw, Frogman2, walleyemen and several others <!--graemlin::)--> )

I'm also looking forward to fishing some lakes and rivers for a change, as the last 2 years I've only been in the backwaters of the Mississippi at La Crosse, so it will give me a chance to shake off the cobwebs for these things...in particular, the rivers, as I grew up on a tributary of the Miss. up in Minnesota, and fished several others in the region. To be honest, I have missed that type of fishing the most.

I sent a few things back to my place in Wisconsin from here. Years ago while working as a janitorial supervisor I had found this black plastic shipping case in a dumpster, so I snagged it <!--graemlin::D--> and found that it was just the right size for 2 piece rods less than 8 ft long.
