Wow what a surprise. My wife and I frequently fish for bass, but occasionally just anchor in our pleasure boat and throw out some worms on slip bobbers. This was the result of one of those days. A 10 minute fight, on 6 lb test with no net. A 42" Northern might not seem big to some who go to Canada but this was caught in the Chain O'Lakes, Illinois. It was my biggest freshwater fish ever caught and what a blast.
