It's no secret that I think the best part of this Club is the BB here...and I've been blessed to have made several good friends from here and fished with a bunch of other great folks.

This past weekend I was honored to be invited to the La Crosse area for canepole's daughter's graduation party.

I was also fortunate to be able to spend some time with retiredpsg....and we got out on the Mississippi River both Friday AM and Sunday AM.

I forgot my camera on Friday (D'oh!).....but here's a few shots of Sunday...and yeh....I couldn't BUY a fish into the boat

But I still had a great time...and thanks to Lou for the invite

And that is a bass on a DareDevle.....and a wingdam....the northern had to be +10 lbs easily...and the gar was around 4 ft.

A huron on the log....and an eagle in the tree.

You can't fool me guys. That northern looks an awful lot like a carp.

Yep...1st pic is the northern. Tried to get a pic of Lou pulling the hook out with a needlenose....but the camera didn't act right  and it was gone.

DEFINITELY a nice one though...as it ws a good 6" longer than the 7 lb 7 oz one I caught at La Crosse 2 years ago

Lou also had a couple of BIGGER ones he pulled his lure AWAY from...so me gotta call him CHICKEN at this point

It will be great to see you AGAIN Cuz...you KNOW how we old GI's are  and we'll go WHACK some of those THICK weed fish

Wow! Those are great pictures.  Tell me if you can relate.  I've tried to photograph eagles, they seem so big and impressive, but then when I look at the pictures they are much smaller and far less impressive.  Anyway, love the pics thanks for sharing.

    Hey 'bro....thanks!

I zoomed for the 1st pic....then just used Paint to "crop" it.

Being our national bird....they are always special to me....and they have nests in the bluffs up and down the Mississippi valley.

This one is an adult....but a young one.....substantially smaller than older adults I've seen.

Lou and I were jst below the dam above Lacrosse at that point....and I had a couple of lures that were getting "nipped on"....but he changed to that Bill Dance Eel....then he hooked up.

I didn't have any soft plastic worms with me.....if I did...I would have tried swimming about an 8" one or so.
